The Charity
What is the Livery Charity?
Philanthropy and charitable giving are a huge part of the City of London Livery Companies. In 2025 the Livery movement’s total philanthropic giving was £81 million, plus over 76,000 hours of pro-bono time.
The Chartered Accountants’ Livery Charity (CALC) is a grant-giving charity using donations from members, and investment income, to support good causes in line with the Charity’s Objectives.
In 2024-25 the Charity gave £205,000 to 55 deserving causes largely across the UK.
Applications do not need to be sponsored by a member of the Livery Company, but members are invited to sponsor applications if they have an involvement with an organisation that meets the Charity Objectives.
